What does this ticket actually get you?
Everything except a guide: entry to the cathedral, the rooftop terraces, the Duomo Museum and San Gottardo in Corte, from €26 on the GetYourGuide feed. It’s the default recommendation on this site because it’s the cheapest ticket that includes the terraces — the part of the Duomo you can’t replace with anything else in Milan.
Watch the checkout options, because that’s where “from €26” grows: the elevator to the terraces, fast-track access, and the audio guide are each add-ons. The base ticket climbs the stairs and waits in the standard line.
Who is it for — and who should buy something else?
Buy this if you want the full building at your own pace and the price gap to guided products matters; skip it if queues stress you or you want the history explained as you walk. The €32 skip-the-line product adds a live guide and priority entry but drops the rooftop; the €55–€69 guided combinations include both guide and lift, at roughly double the price.
One honest limitation from the product’s own terms: the guided tour is explicitly not included, and the included museum entry is unguided too. What you’re buying is access, not interpretation.
What visitors consistently report about this route: in the 120 recent Google reviews we analysed, the pattern for self-guided visits is clear — go at 9–10am on a weekday to walk past the queues, do the terraces first while the marble is dry, then use your single cathedral entry. The lift option only goes up (to a lower terrace — everyone climbs the last ~90 steps and walks down), so the stairs version at the base price is less of a compromise than it sounds if you’re reasonably fit.
